When "Arts & Crafts" was recorded, there were a few alternate takes. As it turned out, the alternate takes are identical to the program on the album. Side one is a 20-minute trio piece and side two is a bell and wood meditation, a piano shakuhachi piece and another version of "Exercise," solo piano. We decided to give the album cover a sort of x-ray appearance since maybe these selections are the inner bones and muscles and structure of the original album. Nothing like looking in the mirror and seeing your reflection! Perhaps this album is that reflection. I'm pleased to make this music available and surprised and happy to see the magical way in which it has transpired.--Steve Cohn 2020
